You’re a hoot

Your a hoot 1

Hey everyone! This card was tons of fun, I have been eyeing this stamp set from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps for a long time (link is in the products used), I was absolutely thrilled to get my hands on it!

Your a hoot 2

I used the Serendipity 6×6 pad that came in the Hip Kit January color add on, to create the layers in the backround. The bottom layer was cut with a stitched die from Simon Says Stamp. The twine is out of my stash I would assume from the twinery but it is the last of it so I can’t be sure.

Your a hoot 3

I stamped the image with versafine onyx black in then coloured it with my Gansai Tambi watercolours (I have the 24 colour set). THe white highlights are done with a small brush and Golden Titanium White heavybody Acrylic.

I love you

I love you 1

Hey everyone! I am here with another card that would work for any love occasion or for Valentines day. I am really happy with the simplicity of this card.

I love you 2

I layered DCWV Adhesive Fabric to a piece of scrap cardstock. I absolutely adore the way the versafine ink and the sharpie pen bleed out ever so slightly in the fabric. The faux stitched lines were done with a ruler and a sharpie pen.

The Serendipity 6×6 pad (that I received in my colour add on from the hip kit) had the perfect pink patters to die cut the hearts from the Film and Polaroid die from The Greeting Farm, I then free handed a double outline around it.

Happy

Happy Hip Kit challenge 1

Hey everyone, first things first, I am sorry that my whites are reading slightly blue (teal kitchen couldn’t find my grey card, and its snowing outside). Anyway, this weekend challenge on the Hip Kit Member Forum on facebook is a challenge based on Wilna Furstenberg, lots of white space with just a little colour. These types of layouts are a big challenge but I had a ton of fun doing it!

Happy Hip Kit Challenge 2

I dug into my stash for a bunch of shapes and pieces that I wanted to use and then painted them all white. The glitter word thickers were a little bit to bright for the layout I felt so I did brush over them all with a dry brush to dull it a bit with white paint.

Happy Hip Kit Challenge 3

The pink colour and the brown were added using my peerless watercolours, and then I added some white acrylic lightly over top as I thought the colour was just a bit to bright. I also layered just a little bit of the patterned paper from the Seridipity 6×6 pad under the photo and tissue paper and between the acetate sheet just for a hint of colour.

Super Pig Birthday

Parker the pig 1

Hey everyone! I have a 4 year old son, that is by every definition of the word a super hero addict, seriously its insane all the stuff he knows about them. Anyway, back on point when I saw this set from Stamping Bella how could I not get it!

Parker the pig 2

I kept this card very simple, I coloured the super pig with copics and used the sentiment included on the set. The papers I used were from the Bo Bunny Surprise collection. The blue ribbon across the center is from my stash, I do beleive I picked it up at Dollarama here in canada. The black cardstock is out of my scrap bin I would guess it is American Crafts left over from a layout.

Valentines Card 2015

Kraftin Kimmie vday

Hey everyone! Back again this time with a fun Valentines Day card I made using Kraftin Kimmie Stamps image I {heart} you. This one was fun using watercolour to colour the image. The white spots on the image were added using Golden Heavy body acrylic in Titanium White.

Kraftin Kimmie vday 2

I then decided using my Hip Kit colour add on for the month of January would work perfect for this card. I tinted my Golden light molding paste using the Avery Elle Mint to be inkpad that is included in the kit, and doesn’t the Hero Arts for Basic Grey stecil just work ever so perfect! The mint coloured twine is from my stash and I am almost out of it so I am unsure of who the manufacturer is, if I had to guess I would guess The Twinery.

Bear Birthday

Paper smooches bear 1

Sometimes cute and simple just works for me. I love this little bear from the Paper Smooches Chubby Chum Pals stamp set. I kept it simple and just coloured him in with my Prismacolour Pencils on Neenah Desert Storm kraft cardstock.

Paper Smooches bear 2

The white dots put on the image were done with a Golden Titanium white heavy body acrylic paint. I die cut that panel with the Lawn Fawn small stitched rectangles dies, I left the die in place and inked it with distress ink then wrapped the twine around the bottom. I layered a panel of vellum behind the image over top of the birthday paper from the Bo Bunny Surprise collection.

2015 Week 2

2015 week 2 a

Wahoo back with week 2! Is is sad that I feel really excited after 3 weeks to have 2 of them done. This spread is using cards from past Scraptastic This Life Noted Kits. This week was a crazy expensive week, my son got completely spoilt, he got his hockey gear, and then we purchased a PS4 (which I had been saving for sense they got released and they had one at Walmart with the Lego Batman game so I picked it up)

2015 Week 2 c

2015 Weeek 2 d

You can see in that picture I added a vertical photo, the issue I ran into was when I went to put my layout into its page protector, of course I planned it on the side where the opening was on the spread from the prior week. Easy fix I took my craft knife and ruler and cut a slit at the top of that pocket on the back side that is only as wide as the photo, slid the card in the other side then slid my photo in the slit I had made on the front and re-attached it.

2015 Week 2 e

2015 Week 2 f

The other half of the spread of course follows the same colour pallet as the prior page, and was also kept simple, a little journaling wood veneers, and an acetate word from Heidi Swapp. The tag I used on the photo of my son sleeping is cut from Tim Holtz’s tiny tabs and tags die.

2015 week 2 b

If there is anything on this spread in-particular you would like to know where it came from, leave a comment and I will be sure to get back to you.

Smile Today

Smile Today Jan Hip kit 1

Hey everyone! I was simply thrilled to get my hands on the December and January Hip Kits (I live in Canada so Kim ships to me every other month saves me a little money).

I thought these pages were so simple and soft and I have been wanting to scrapbook this photo from my sisters wedding and it all just worked together so well.

Smile Today Jan Hip Kit 2

These die cuts we got in the Heidi Swapp package made a perfect title, I was a little worried at the start as they were slightly bend and twisted from in the package but once I sprayed them down they worked wonderful!

Smile Today January Hip Kit 3

The background paper is Canson watercolour paper, I used Golden Titanium white acrylic paint to give me more of a contrast between the paper and the paint the white and off white look lovely together, especially after I added the Heidi Swapp colour shine to it.

The patterned paper that is backing the layout I think is from the December hip kit, but I can no remember for sure. If you need to know leave a comment and I will find out for you.

Lucky to be Cousins!

Lucky to be cousins

Hey everyone! I am here again with another layout to share with you all. I finally received my December Kit from Scraptastic on the 7th of January (Christmas slows all the mail down). I loved all the papers included in this kit!

Lucky to be cousins 2

My son and my niece are truly lucky to be as close in age as they are (3 weeks apart). I just felt this photo was perfect to show that. Just a simple lunch out with me and them playing at the table.

Lucky to be coucins 3

The background of this layout is Canson Watercolor paper. and I used Lindy’s stamp gang sprays to add colour (colours will be listed at the bottom of the post.

Bike Kid Boy Card

Bike Kid 1

Hey everyone, sometimes simple is the way to go, especially when it comes to male cards. The flowers and lace and all the pretty layers just feel off if I try to make them work.

Bike Kid 2

This image is rather large so I stuck to just a few simple patterned papers backed with black cardstock, I always seem to find myself reaching for black when it comes masculine cards. The sentiment is just a simple messages on the inside of the card.
