Happy Watercolour

IMG469 card

Hey everyone, back with my second card for today. This one was coloured with my Inktense Pencils and is a Sherri Baldy My Besties IMG469.

IMG469 Card 2

This card is a little out of the norm for me. I had a fabric piece in my stash and built the card around that. I decided the piece needed some colour so I used my Peerless watercolours to achieve that and then painted the wood veneer with Golden Titanium White Heavy Body Acrylic, and added some watercolor on them as well. I then layered it all on some patterned papers.

Sorry I do not have a list of colours for this image.

Hello There

Hello there 1

Hey everyone, Here is another card from me. This stamp is from CC Designs and is called Baby Willow, she is coloured with my Prismacolor Pencils.

Hello There 2

This is what I would call a scrap card, all of the patterned papers on this card were out of my scrap bag (leftovers from other projects). They are all distressed on the edges and inked with vintage photo distress ink, then layered on kraft cardstock to allow the card to not appear to busy.

The trims are from my stash, some lace and some Sari Silk Ribbon. The pearls are from Recollections, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the hello there sentiment is from Scraptastic.

2015 Week 2

2015 week 2 a

Wahoo back with week 2! Is is sad that I feel really excited after 3 weeks to have 2 of them done. This spread is using cards from past Scraptastic This Life Noted Kits. This week was a crazy expensive week, my son got completely spoilt, he got his hockey gear, and then we purchased a PS4 (which I had been saving for sense they got released and they had one at Walmart with the Lego Batman game so I picked it up)

2015 Week 2 c

2015 Weeek 2 d

You can see in that picture I added a vertical photo, the issue I ran into was when I went to put my layout into its page protector, of course I planned it on the side where the opening was on the spread from the prior week. Easy fix I took my craft knife and ruler and cut a slit at the top of that pocket on the back side that is only as wide as the photo, slid the card in the other side then slid my photo in the slit I had made on the front and re-attached it.

2015 Week 2 e

2015 Week 2 f

The other half of the spread of course follows the same colour pallet as the prior page, and was also kept simple, a little journaling wood veneers, and an acetate word from Heidi Swapp. The tag I used on the photo of my son sleeping is cut from Tim Holtz’s tiny tabs and tags die.

If there is anything on this spread in-particular you would like to know where it came from, leave a comment and I will be sure to get back to you.

Lucky to be Cousins!

Lucky to be cousins

Hey everyone! I am here again with another layout to share with you all. I finally received my December Kit from Scraptastic on the 7th of January (Christmas slows all the mail down). I loved all the papers included in this kit!

Lucky to be cousins 2

My son and my niece are truly lucky to be as close in age as they are (3 weeks apart). I just felt this photo was perfect to show that. Just a simple lunch out with me and them playing at the table.

The background of this layout is Canson Watercolor paper. and I used Lindy’s stamp gang sprays to add colour (colours will be listed at the bottom of the post.

Best Family Ever

Best Family Ever 1

Hey everyone, I am usually a one or two photo’s on a page type person, I just seem to find more photos difficult to work with. So this layout has EIGHT, that’s right count them!

These photo’s are from back in August of 2014, my sister got married and everyone came up for the wedding, my parents rented a suit in a hotel across the street from the venue and we all hung out in there having a couple of beverages before the wedding.

Best Family Ever 2

I used the labels to list the people in order in the photo (you never know who may look at these and not remember everyone by their appearance at that time, or if I will always remember. Also I find I enjoy having names listed when there are many people in a photo.)

Best Family Ever 3

So on the bottom of the layout I used smaller photo’s to have closer looks at some of the people that were there, as well as all the children that were there.

2015 Week 1

DSC_0003

Hey everyone, something most of you that follow my blog may not know is that I am a “project lifer.” This is my second year doing this project and figured I would share it with you this year. As such this is my first week for 2015. Now these posts will be a little different then some, I wont have a linked list of products I used at the end, as lots of it is bits and pieces and left overs.

DSC_0006

So I used some of my December 2014 Scraptastic This Life Noted kit, as well as other pieces from previous Scraptastic Kits. There are little bits from Freckled Fawn kits (I no longer subscribe to their kit). The cork stars are from Studio Calic0, and the cork family is from Elles’s Studio Sycamore Lane.

The lables were purchased from Studio Calico’s website a while ago (I can no longer find them on their site), they are printables and I cut them all out (recently as they are in this PL layout lol). They are acetate pieces from a small Project Life kit I picked up at Micheals.

Let’s Dance

Marry 5

So this is my first layout using the November Shake it off kit and add on from Scraptastic. I really do love this kit, but being in Canada, these kits seem to take forever to get to me… like 1 1/2 weeks longer then another kit club I subscribe to that shipped 3 days after this one. Oh well I ❤ it regardless.

Marry 4

Aside from the kit and add-on, things added from my stash were Canson 140lbs watercolour paper, my Smash book roller date stamp, Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays in a coral and a yellow (I don’t have the colours beside me at the moment but if you would like to know just leave me a comment and I will get them for you, they were both Flat Fabio’s), as well as I cut down one of the polka dot acetate dividers from PL, and finally some beloved enamel dots from my stash.

marry3

I love taking things apart, like that stitched pocket here, I pulled the tag out of it, took the remember this off of the front added one of the fabric banner pieces and then put the remember this back on the front. Layers make me happy even if they are simple.

Marry 2

In the background here you can see that I started with some Golden Light Molding paste, and a butterfly stencil from prima.

This little tag with the crate paper on it was ever so cute but it was too tall for what I wanted… easy fix! Just cut it in half and glue it back together the crate paper hides the joint perfectly, later a few stickers from the sticker sheet and it is done!

I have been working on these pages for a while now, my little sister got married in August and I have been slowly completing layouts for her book. That is why, unlike most of my layouts, there is no journaling on this page, I leave that for her to do.

Simple trees

DSC_0111

Hey everyone! Jess here again using the same stamp and die set as yesterday, the Snow Day set from Lawn Fawn,  This card I kept rather simple stamping the tree outline and colouring them in with my Copic’s, G111, G14, G17, and G28, then cut them out with the coordinating die.

DSC_0112

I then wrapped some May Arts twine around the white panel and stamped my sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black Ink, and attached my trees with foam tape. Then finished off the twine by tying it in a bow over top.

I dug in my Scraptastic Life Noted card stash and found this fun triangle one and cut it down to fit behind the white panel. Noticing that it looked rather plain on the Neenah Solar white card base I took out my most used and loved stencil (Tim Holtz Spatter stencil) masked off the areas I didn’t want to use and then used distress ink in Peacock Feathers, and picked raspberries through the stencil to create a lovely backround. Attatched my focal panel on some foam tape and it was complete.

Christmas Wishes

DSC_0101

Hey everyone, did you see Jen’s fantastic card yesterday! If you didn’t you should go back and take a look at it!

For todays card, I kept the cuts real simple, I really wanted to use these Scraptastic Exclusive wood veneers that I got last Christmas, ya I keep things for far to long, I am seriously trying to blow through my stash.

Back to the start of the card I took a piece of Neenah solar white cardstock, and distress ink (I would guess I used salty ocean, broken china, and weathered wood). After that dried I took the Falling Stars Stencil from SSS and Golden light molding paste and applied that to the panel. I attatched that to another peice of Neenah cardstock leaving an 1/8″ boarder.

DSC_0102

I then took some gold thread and balled it up and put it behind the round wood veneer, added the banner one for the sentiment on the card. Then I needed a couple larger stars for on top of that banner, and I couldn’t find any wood veneers, seeing as I had been working on cards for this series, it came to me right away. I cut a bunch of the stars to the size I wanted them and layered them all together, using a distress marker around the edge to hide the white, I then embossed them with Hero arts gold embossing powder. I attatched everything to a A2 size Neenah Desert Storm cardbase and called it complete.
