Lawn Fawn Christmas

DSC_0128

Hey everyone! Did you see Jani’s card yesterday (and the file that was in it) if you didn’t you should really go check it out!

So I am continuing with my breaking of the using digital files thing for the month, I am so in love with this stamp set that I am still using it! So again this is using the Snow Day stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn. So I stamped 2 of the cute bunnies and coloured them with copics (W00, W01, W03, W05, W07, R20, R22), and the little bird (R22, R24, R27, R29). I then stamped the trees using Soft Leaf ink from Hero Arts, and Olive ink from Creative Memories, and the bow is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

The background for my little scene is on Canson watercolour paper, painted with Peerless Watercolors. I then splattered it with Heidi Swapp Gold Lame ink and put it on a patterned paper stash from my Simon Says Stamp card kit patterned paper stash (in otherwords I can not remember who this paper came from lol), put it on a grey card base and called it finished,

Bunny Christmas

DSC_0107

Good morning everyone! Did you check out Annette’s card yesterday! I really loves the traditional colours she used! If you didn’t you should go back and check out her post!

So confession time, I went to put today’s card up this morning, because yesterday got away from me. Attempted to pull the photo’s off of the memory card, and well the card is fouled and I can not get anything off of it. Would normally not be a big deal, but I live 20 minutes out of the city, and nothing is open at 6:30 am on a statutory holiday where I can purchase a card. So today and tomorrows card, unfortunately will not be using my cameo. They are cards I had photographed and already pulled off for a couple posts in November. Plus note, you get to see them now!

So this card was made using the Lawn Fawn Snow Day Stamps and Dies, as well as the Lawn Fawn Trim the Tree Stamps and dies. I stamped the two bunnies that face eachother and coloured them with my copics W00, w01, w03, w05,w07, R22, and R20. I also stamped a row of lights and the bell from the Trim the tree set and coloured them with Y11, Y13, and Y15, Using the coordinating dies I cut them all out.

I then cut a piece of Neenah white with the row of trees in the Snow Day set and pieced it back together creating a back panel for my bunnies to rest on.  The sentiment is stamped with Versa Fine Onyx Black ink and then a piece of May arts Twine is tied in a bow underneath it. All the patterened paper is scraps from my scrap bin, I know the triangle paper is from Simon Says Stamps christmas card kit last year (I can not remember who the manufacturer was) and the other paper I do not even have a guess but its just a simple grey paper with a white dot pattern.

Christmas Wishes

DSC_0101

Hey everyone, did you see Jen’s fantastic card yesterday! If you didn’t you should go back and take a look at it!

For todays card, I kept the cuts real simple, I really wanted to use these Scraptastic Exclusive wood veneers that I got last Christmas, ya I keep things for far to long, I am seriously trying to blow through my stash.

Back to the start of the card I took a piece of Neenah solar white cardstock, and distress ink (I would guess I used salty ocean, broken china, and weathered wood). After that dried I took the Falling Stars Stencil from SSS and Golden light molding paste and applied that to the panel. I attatched that to another peice of Neenah cardstock leaving an 1/8″ boarder.

DSC_0102

I then took some gold thread and balled it up and put it behind the round wood veneer, added the banner one for the sentiment on the card. Then I needed a couple larger stars for on top of that banner, and I couldn’t find any wood veneers, seeing as I had been working on cards for this series, it came to me right away. I cut a bunch of the stars to the size I wanted them and layered them all together, using a distress marker around the edge to hide the white, I then embossed them with Hero arts gold embossing powder. I attatched everything to a A2 size Neenah Desert Storm cardbase and called it complete.

Hey everyone, Jess back with another card. I am 100% happy with the turn out of this card. Can you guess where I used my Cameo on this card?

So I started with a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Canson 140lbs coldpress watercolour paper, I painted the backround using my peerless watercolours. and then stamped the Big Holiday Wishes sentiment from the Big holiday Wishes stamps set from SSS, in versamark Onyx Black ink.

Then I cut a bunch of different sized circles in cardstock using my Cameo. Taking the Prima White Calk ink and a round ink blender from Tim Holtz, I started with the larger circles and applying less white ink to them, gradually working my way to the smallest circle, and making the ink more opaque the smaller the circles got. Once finished I set it aside to allow that chalk in a chance to dry.

Once the ink was dry I got some sequins out of my stash and added 6 of them using glossy accents.

Its looking like a GOLD Christmas

Wow, we are on day 6 already! Haven’t the guest posts been amazing! It is so much fun, and so inspirational to see other people’s work, I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am! Today I kept things rather clean and simple. The deer is from the silhouette studio, the file is called Christmas Demask (design id #34432), I cut and layered 2 of these together and then embossed them with Hero Arts Gold embossing powder a couple of times. Then I tied a piece of pay arts natural jute twine around his throat in a pretty bow.

The card base is Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, I then layered a piece of Birch woodveneer paper (That I got from SSS) a gold colour striped paper (no idea what paper line that is from) and then glitter paper from colorbok. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts clear set, and I layered that on another gold embossed layer.

A Holiday Hello

DSC_0056

Welcome everyone to day 3 of this Christmas Marathon on my blog. Did you see Susan’s card yesterday!!! Wow she did amazing. This card is ever so simple, I started by using my Silhouette Cameo to cut a snowflake from an Echo Park Snowflake set (Design ID# 51859), I then cut off some of the bottom whisps just to make it slightly more simple, finished these little snowflakes off by putting 2 coats of Hero Arts silver embossing powder.

DSC_0057

The white cardbase and layers are from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock, the red layers of cardstock I am not 100% sure where it is from but I would guess it is a Bazzil Cardshoppe Cardstock. The silver and cream patterned paper as well as the stripes behind the sentiment is from the SSS Christmas card kit from last year and I can not remember who it was from as it was in my scrap bin. The shape behind the sentiment is a Spellbinders Die from my stash, unfortunately I have misplaced the packaging to it and can not remember what set it is from. The stamp is from a SSS Set called Holiday Hellos (SS101365), the sequins and small pearls are from my stash.

Die Cutting for Christmas Cards- Susan

JESS BLOG CHRISTMASHi everyone! Susan here, taking over Jess’s blog, you can find my blog here. Jess is a wonderful card maker and I have learned so much from her U Stream Classes. Today’s focus is on using digital die cutters for Christmas cards. I have used my Silhouerre Cameo for this card.

For this card I selected the Silhouette file Nested Poinsettia (Design ID #15148) and resiced it for the front of an A2 card. I then used my Cameo to cut it on some Neenah Solar White cardstock. Once I had all the flowers cut I colored each with Copic Markers. I followed Sandy Allnock’s tutorial on colouring poinsettias here. She was using a stamped image but I wanted mine to be dimensional.

I used R12 on all the flowers which are really leaves by the way! And then proceeded to color them in with the darkest being on the bottom. To achieve this I used R32, R35, R39 and R89. Once finished I sketched the leaf veins with a fine line black pen. I adhered the flower together using Glossy Accents and then added silver glass beads to the center with Glossy Accents.

I embossed the back later of the card with a Life Style Crafts embossing folder – I think it is called Links. I die cut a circle out of another panel of Neenah Solar white using My Favorite Things Circle Stax dies – I LOVE those! I adhered the front panel to the back panel using some foam tape.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Big Holiday Wishes and the sequins from Pretty Pink Posh!

Thank you to Jess for having me on her blog and thanks for looking. I hope this inspires you to use your digital die cutting tool for your Christmas cards. It makes quick work of die cutting lots of pieces!

Graphic 45 Birthday card

DSC_0066

So a while ago I was thinking about how I have been been making so many cards lately, but yet I have used virtually no patterned paper. If you know me at all through twitter, or when I use to do Ustream shows, you would know that I have a ridiculous amount of patterned paper. So I went digging and pulled out some of my old patterned paper, this is a graphic 45 8×8 pad, I can’t remember off hand what collectons I used, but if you really want to know I will dig around and find out for you.

DSC_0067I did a bunch of different layers of paper on here, I used the small banner punch for the banner along the top, the lace punch along the bottom is a Martha Stewart punch.

DSC_0068

Making this card, reminded me why I love patterned paper, the simplicity of using nothing but patterned paper and a simple Happy Birthday stamp set. I guess that means I need to keep making more cards and try and get through some of the paper I have, that should only take me 5-10 years haha!

Oh, Hello There

DSC_0069

Hey everyone, back with another card! This time it is from the Simon Says Stamp September Card kit. I really loved the stamp set that came with this kit, all the individual book stamps, as well as other elements, and the shelves themselves.

DSC_0070

I used various ink colours, some from Simon Says stamp, Hero Arts Shadow Ink, and the Prima chalk inks. (sorry I did not keep track of what colours)

DSC_0071

Its a very simple looking card, that has a ton of stamping in it.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look

Sunflower’s and watercolor

DSC_0075

Here is a fun little watercolour card I made, I used a sunflower stamp, I have no idea who makes it, it is actually for doing pottery. I embossed with white embossing powder and coloured it, in a watercolour fashion, using distress inks. (mustard seed, wild honey, dried marigold, ripe persimmon, crushed olive, and peeled paint).

DSC_0076

I then added splatters on the background with mustard seed, and ripe persimmon. it is layered on a terracotta orange cardstock base with a chocolate brown mat (not sure whose card stocks they are probably Paper Trey Ink).

DSC_0077

The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp Set called Birthday Messages 3×4, and is stamped in Wendi Vecchi Archival Ink in the colour Potting Soil
